THE FAMILY DINING SKILLS TUTORIAL

Table Manners

The Family Dining Etiquette Tutorial is designed for families and geared towards the age and skill development of the young participants.  It implements the framework for showing parents and caregivers how to model everyday table manners without becoming an enforcer or a critic.
This skills development course presents a straightforward approach to help the family, as a unit, understand the logic of table manners and master the mechanics of utensil use.

Dining Skills Practice

What happens in a dining skills class?  We're not here to correct your table manners or teach you numerous outdated rules.  We're here to give your family members  the skills needed to feel comfortable eating with others in a variety of social scenarios.  You will get  hands-on practice  and learn what to do when eating at home, or in a restaurant, or attending a fancy social event.  If you practice these skills all the time, then you won't feel shy, awkward or uncomfortable when you need your confidence the most.

What You Will Learn

By the end of this class, family members will know what to do, how to do it, and when to do it in a variety of dining scenarios.
Here's what you will learn:
  • How to arrive at the table and sit down
  • Where to place your hands, elbows and wrists
  • The Dining Do's and Don'ts
  • Dining Styles - The Continental style of dining
  • The skillful use of utensils
  • The rules of host and guest
  • Restaurant and buffet dining
