HOW DID YOU GET STARTED?
Bridges School of Protocol exists to bridge the gap between academic and technical education and training in "soft skills". This skill set is generally not a part of traditional academic curriculum. Today, civil codes of behavior seem to be endangered because people underestimate the importance of effective interpersonal skills. The rules of social behavior will always matter because when they are not adhered to, it is impossible to make that initial connection that develops into a meaningful relationship. For example, a study published by the Thunderbird School of Management revealed that bad manners in business cost billions of dollars due to poor communication, disrespect and disregard for cultural norms.
We deliver social skills education that provides guidelines for social behavior: etiquette, manners and global protocol to give students a framework for how to interact and communicate effectively with others. Social skills contribute to people's overall sense of self esteem and confidence in themselves and their abilities.

Mimi McCroskey is the Founding Member of Etiquette for Today, an etiquette consulting and training firm that has been part of the Denver, Colorado community since 2010. The company delivers personalized coaching, workshops and seminars in Social and Business Communications Etiquette, Dining Skills, Global Protocol and Junior Social Skills and Manners.
Mimi developed coaching skills through collegiate Varsity Tennis. She credits her coaches for motivating her to develop as an athlete and keep her place on the team for four years. They knew how to skillfully guide a player in going from good to great. After college, Mimi coached Junior tennis in a variety of organizations. Mimi learned to play chess at an early age and in recent years has had the honor of teaching young players the fundamentals of sound play as a Scholastic Chess Coach. Her teaching style emphasizes a practical, pragmatic approach to skill development.
Ms. McCroskey holds a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and Government and worked in the political sector as a strategist. Later, she discovered the career of etiquette consulting through volunteer work in Denver Public Schools. Her first children's manners workshops, Afternoon Tea with Ms Mimi, were well-received by students, parents and teachers. The series was written by Mimi McCroskey in collaboration with licensed educators Mary Latson and Fran West, and funded by a grant from the Lights On After School Arts Association. As requests for her workshops grew, and people offered to pay for them, Mimi started Etiquette for Today. Later, Bridges School of Protocol was added to serve adults, business, corporate and academic organizations in addition to young adults.
Ms. McCroskey has appeared on local TV news networks, solving etiquette dilemmas from tipping etiquette to the taboos surrounding discussion of money matters to handling road rage. She is the former regional Spokesperson for The Ford Motor Company Drive-by-Etiquette, on behalf of their national initiative to promote courteous highway driving during summer travel months.
